Dr. Valerie Tokarz, DO, FAAD
Board-Certified Dermatologist

As a board-certified dermatologist Dr. Valerie Tokarz provides a patient-centric and personalized approach to laser, cosmetic and general dermatology. Her journey towards becoming a Board-Certified Dermatologist began with earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University followed by a Doctorate of Osteopathy from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to complete a rigorous Surgical Internship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia before working as a doctor for the US Marines with a tour in North Carolina, including a deployment to Kuwait. She completed her Dermatology Residency at Naval Medical Center, San Diego and remained there as an Attending Dermatologist where she trained residents and focused her skills in laser and cosmetic dermatology. Those talents were utilized to treat various scars including being the first US doctor to deploy with a laser on a hospital ship to treat severely scarred patients during a US Navy humanitarian mission to SE Asia (Pacific Partnership 2012). 

For over 10 years she’s been using lasers and cosmetic injections and is continually keeping abreast of new and emerging therapies. Her experience, knowledge and artistic eye for skin procedures has allowed her to develop a reputation as a compassionate and gentle provider. Through laser surgery and a variety of dermatologic cosmetic procedures, she looks forward to helping patients improve their skin's health from sun-damage, aging, acne, rosacea, scars, wrinkles, benign growths and a broad range of general dermatology treatments, all at a competitive price. Dr. Tokarz is very passionate about applying her skills in laser and cosmetic dermatology to safely and effectively give patients the best possible outcomes. The thousands of hours necessary to become a Board-Certified Dermatologist along with her vast experience with a wide range of lasers, devices and injectables gives her patients’ the assurance their skin is in the best possible hands.  

Maria DiSimone
Practice Manager & Patient Care Coordinator

We are excited to have Maria on our team as our Office Manager and Director of Patient Relations. She comes with over 10 years of medical aesthetic office experience and has a true passion for your skin and cosmetic concerns. Given her extensive knowledge of this unique industry, along with staying abreast of new procedures and products, you’re guaranteed excellent advice in making decisions about your skin’s health and appearance. 

Maria is a perfect fit for the Tokarz Team as she strives to continually present our patients the best experience, ensuring they receive unsurpassed expert care that only a dermatology practice can guarantee. She will help you decide how best to manage the various treatment options and is well versed in all the products we carry. She will assist in creating an individual skin care plan for all your needs. Maria maintains her commitment to patient excellence and proof of compassion; she’ll confirm there is a follow-up after your procedure and that any questions are answered ensuring excellent laser and aesthetic dermatology care. 

Maria flourishes with event coordination and promotions to enliven our audience about the brilliant possibilities in laser and aesthetic dermatology. She is instrumental in making the practice run as a well-oiled machine and does so with delight and enthusiasm.  

Samantha Faucher
Licensed Practical Nurse

Samantha is a well-versed Dermatology Nurse with over 6 years of experience in this arena of expertise. Over the years and after working with Dr. Tokarz in laser and aesthetic dermatology, she thoroughly comprehends the complexity of light energy and tissue interaction. She’s also well-read in the broad range of dermatologic cosmetic procedures performed by Dr. Tokarz, including most fillers and their appropriate patient candidates, chemical peels and Botox injections. She connects very personally with her patients and can thoroughly explain these scientific concepts in layman terms to help you feel at ease. She also takes care and attention with your skin treatment decisions and helps you understand post-operative skin care and the best methods to maintain those benefits.   

Samantha is certified in laser hair removal and performs non-invasive aesthetic procedures such as Diamondtome microdermabrasion and epidermal chemical peels, giving our patients a variety of dermatologic treatment options in a setting where you are in the hands of real skin experts committed to excellence.

Barbara Bisson
Medical Assistant

The team at Tokarz Dermatology has significantly enriched its staff experience with the addition of Barbara who has over 19 years of experience as a Certified Dermatology Technician and Medical Assistant. Prior to arriving at our office she worked with dermatologists who are well known in the community for their high standards of care. However, when these physicians decided to retire, we were fortunate to have discovered such a gem and could immediately see just how valuable her high ethical standards, caring bedside manner and attention to detail would become. Barbara also brings her expertise in the Diamondtome microdermabrasion system. When she uses her gentle touch to treat your face with Microdermabrasion along with Dermaplaning your skin will take on a youthful, dewey glow and feel smooth as silk. Barbara does an excellent job of explaining the many laser and cosmetic procedures Dr. Tokarz performs allowing patients to feel comfortable and more relaxed during your visit. We are extremely proud of our newest teammate who upholds our commitment to each and every patient for extraordinary medical care in laser and cosmetic dermatology.
